New Communication Campaign Brings the EU Charter Closer to Citizens!
A new milestone for the FAIR project: a communication campaign has been launched to raise awareness and make the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights more accessible to citizens across Europe.
The campaign combines engaging visual infographics with a multichannel social media strategy to make the Charter’s content more understandable and accessible. It highlights its core principles while countering the perception of the Charter as a complex and distant legal document.
Structured into three thematic infographic series, the campaign explores:
- Origins – introducing the Charter’s history, philosophical foundations, and legal status;
- Application – explaining to whom the Charter applies and the roles of national and EU courts;
- Action – mapping national-level complaint mechanisms and support services, with country-specific information from all nine partner countries.
The campaign will run for approximately two months: start exploring them here!
This initiative offers a concrete example of how complex legal frameworks can be transformed into practical tools for civic empowerment, helping bridge the gap between EU institutions and citizens. It also showcases the strength of cross-country cooperation, with FAIR involving nine partner organisations from across the EU.
By promoting fundamental rights as a shared European value, the campaign contributes to building a stronger, more informed, and rights-conscious society across the Union.
